Personal Injury & Negligence
Attorney Dunn has focused his legal practice for the past 30 years exclusively on the representation of those who have suffered personal injuries or wrongful death as a result of another person or entities negligence or unlawful conduct. In general, you are entitled to pursue a claim whenever there has been a failure on the part of someone else to exercise due care for your safety and well-being, causing you to sustain injury as a result.
There are an infinite number of ways that injuries occur. All of them, at their core, start with an injury or death caused by the negligence or the failure to exercise appropriate care for the safety and well-being of the injured party. Workers’ compensation claims are one notable exception in that negligence or failure to exercise due care is not required – an injured worker is entitled to workers’ compensation benefits without the need to establish negligence if injured in the course of their employment.
Examples of different types of personal injury claims include:
- Medical Malpractice
- Motor Vehicle Accidents
- Wrongful Death
- Premises Liability
- Work Related Accidents
- Injuries Suffered by the Elderly
- Product Liability/Defective Products
- Sexual Abuse or Assault

Not only can the types of cases within the field of personal injury law differ, so, too, can the damages sustained by the injured party. Most often the damages claimed include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and probable future medical expenses and lost income. Damages for wrongful death, emotional or psychological injury, scarring, disfigurement, disability, and impairment are also recoverable. Every case is different and many have one or more elements of these types of damages.
If you or a family member has sustained a personal injury, wrongful death or other damages, and would like to speak with Attorney Dunn for a consultation please contact him. Things to keep in mind if you have been injured:
- Be very careful before you agree to ‘sign up’ with a lawyer who solicits you or a family member by phone or mail on the heels of a tragedy. This “business practice” is extremely unprofessional and distasteful. You have time to speak with a lawyer and should avail yourself of this opportunity. Speak and meet with as many attorneys as you desire, and take your time selecting one that is professional, experienced, and competent. Select an attorney who has an excellent reputation and who will place your needs first, rather than their own financial bottom line. Additionally you should select a lawyer who you feel comfortable with and who you will be able to work well with, because without a good relationship, the end result will likely suffer.
- Be very careful when contacted by any insurance company who often times will want to obtain a written or recorded statement from you prior to when you have had the opportunity to seek legal representation. Very often, providing this information without proper legal representation will work to your disadvantage.
I would like to thank you for working so hard on my behalf to ensure that I received the highest compensation possible in my malpractice claim. My husband and I appreciate your diligence; your command of the medicine and medical issues that the case presented; and equally important, the fact that you always kept us informed and involved over the three years that this case moved through the court system…
